Margaret Mote

Chief Executive Officer

With over 25 years experience in the Financial industry holding senior positions, Margaret is a graduate of the Securities Institute of Australia, a Certified Financial Planner and Self-Managed Superfund Accredited Adviser. Margaret is well qualified to provide advice to financial planning clients across a broad range of strategies and products. 

Margaret played in the novice World Backgammon Championship flight in Monte Carlo in 1983.

Thelma Goldsworthy

People and Culture

Thelma is the manager of People and Culture and is an integral part of the Bongiorno Group. In charge of recruitment, Induction, OHS and team wellbeing, Thelma also oversees the office management and keeps us all in line on a daily basis.

Thelma is a round ball football fanatic and travelled to the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

Stuart Haby

Financial Controller

Stuart is the financial controller for the Bongiorno Group.  He commenced in this role in 2005 after 18 years as an accountant in public practice.  He has a Bachelor of Commerce degree and is a Chartered Accountant.

Stuart is a music lover and attends as many concerts as he can with his family each year!

Anneliese Shortt

Marketing & Communications Director

With over 25 years in the marcomms arena,  Anneliese is a specialist in brand strategy and stakeholder relations. As well as developing and implementing the business marketing programs, she works with major medical and dental colleges around Australia developing key relationships and strategic alliances for the Bongiorno National Network. 

As a little girl, Anna dreamed of riding two white horses in a pink tutu at once. Secretly she still wants to! 

Andrew Andrikopoulos

Compliance & Training Manager

Andrew has worked in the financial services industry since 1985. During this time he has held positions in banking, administration, training, financial planning and compliance. He has completed the Diploma of Financial Planning and the Certificate IV in Finance & Mortgage Broking.

Andrew is a Collingwood football club fanatic.

Andrew Vuong

IT Manager

Andrew joined the Bongiorno Group in 2003 after completing his Bachelor of Applied Science (Information Technology) from Swinburne University. Andrew manages the IT department and is keen on exploring new technologies to aid the business.

Vanessa has worked in the Financial Services Industry for over 15 years and joined the Bongiorno Group in 2007. Specialising in Tax and Financial Planning for young professionals, Vanessa holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) degree and has completed the Diploma and Advanced Diploma of Financial Services (Financial Planning).

Vanessa regrets watching renovation shows and taking on her own renovation “project”.

Ricky Caldow

Financial Consultant

Starting out in Private Practice Specialist, Rick has worked in the financial services industry for over 10 years. With a Bachelor of Commerce from Deakin University, an Advanced Diploma in Financial Services (Financial Planning) and a Certificate IV in Mortgage Finance Broking, Rick is well qualified to provide financial advice to his young doctor and dentist clientele.

Ben Bongiorno

Financial Consultant

Ben holds a Bachelor of Commerce, as well as a Masters in Financial Planning from Deakin University. He is also CFP qualified, a member of the FPA and has a certificate IV in Mortgage Finance Broking. After working with an accounting firm specialising in Medical Practitioners, Ben joined The Bongiorno Group team in 2010 and works with young medical professionals.

Ben spends all of his spare time shopping in Bunnings.

Mitch McKeown

Financial Consultant

As part of the Doctors in Training team, Mitch works with young medical professionals to advise on the best financial platform to kick-start their careers. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (majoring in Accounting and Marketing), a Diploma of Financial Planning and a Certificate IV in Finance and Mortgage Broking.

Mitch aspires to be the next Australian to win the US Masters.

Kelly Brown

Executive Assistant/Client Relationship Manager

Kelly manages the day-to-day enquiries of our young medical professionals and works closely with the marketing team to maintain our strong relationships with student bodies. With a background specialising in Event Management, Kelly has also held PA roles in London and throughout Australia. Kelly is currently undertaking her Diploma in Financial Planning.

When Kelly was little, she wanted to be an artist.

Jack Will

Tax Administrator/Client Relationship Manager

As a Client Relationship Manager, Jack is an integral member of the doctors in training team having joined the Bongiorno Group in 2015. Jack works closely with Ricky, Ben and Mitch and is primarily responsible for handling all tax related correspondence and client communication. Jack recently obtained his Diploma in Financial Planning.

Jack is so chivalrous, we all think he should have been born during the Middle Ages.

Helen Cheng

Senior Tax Manager

Helen joined the Bongiorno Group in 2002 as a Tax Consultant. Previously she worked in the public practice environment and as a Financial Accountant for a public listed company. Helen holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting), a Graduate Diploma in Business Information Technology and is a Certified Practising Accountant (CPA).

Helen once popped her rib out whilst lifting luggage into the overhead compartment on an aeroplane.

Michele Harrod

Tax Manager SMSF

Michele specialises in Self-Managed Superannuation Funds and graduated from Victoria University with a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) in 2003. She holds an Advanced Diploma in Financial Services (Superannuation) and became an SMSF Specialist Adviser (SSA) with the SMSF Association in 2010.

Michele has been swimming with fresh water crocodiles.

Nishani De Almeida

Tax Manager

Nishani joined the Bongiorno Group in 2009, bringing her vast experience from working in the accounting and banking sectors. Nishani holds a Bachelor of Accounting and Finance degree, a Diploma of Banking and a Diploma of Financial Planning. She has also completed her Chartered Accounting Qualification CA.

Nishani has a very big Labrador who eats more than she does!

David Lay

Tax Manager

David joined the Bongiorno Group in 2008. He holds a Bachelor of Business degree (majoring in Accounting) from RMIT University. David has completed the CPA program and is currently undertaking a Diploma of Financial Planning. David is our Xero champion at the Bongiorno Group.

David has completed a 4-day Inca Trail hike to see the sun rise over Machu Picchu.

Matthew Doolan

Senior Accountant

Matthew joined the Bongiorno Group after completing a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) from Swinburne University. Matthew completed his CPA in 2011 and has ten years’ experience working in taxation for small-to-medium entities and high-net-worth individuals. Matthew is currently studying for his Diploma of Financial Planning.

Matt once sang a Crowded House song to the class in grade one as part of ‘Show and Tell,’ but forgot most of the words.

Elisheba Handa

Tax Supervisor

Working in Director Paul Fox's team, Elisheba brings to the Bongiorno Group over 10 years’ experience as a qualified CPA. She finished her Masters of Practicing Accounting from Monash University in 2007.


Elish loves travelling and her next big adventure will be to Europe!


Chantelle Turner

Tax Manager

Chantelle holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree and brings over 10 years’ experience as a Chartered Accountant to the Bongiorno Group. Chantelle has experience with a number of industries and client groups ranging from high-net-worth individuals to large-listed medical companies. Chantelle is part of Nick Fennessy’s team. 

Chantelle has her motorbike licence.

Paul Galea

Senior Accountant

Paul is a qualified CPA with over twelve years of industry experience. He graduated from Victoria University in 2000/2001 with a Bachelor of Accounting degree. Paul completed his CPA in 2005 and has also completed his Public Practice Certificate. Paul is currently undertaking his Diploma in Financial Planning.

Paul is lucky to see out of his left eye after a plastic dart incident when he was 8.

Tess Alston


Tess joined the Bongiorno Group in 2010 and assists clients with their accounting and tax needs. After undertaking a double Bachelor of Commerce and Science degree, Tess went on to complete an Advanced Diploma in Professional Accounting. She is currently studying a Diploma of Financial Planning.

Tess is a twin.

Cath Duggan


An integral part of the team, assisting clients with all of their accounting and tax requirements. Cath completed a Bachelor of Accounting at La Trobe University and is currently undertaking her CPA qualification.

Cath is the youngest of seven children!

Gloriana Chiew


Gloriana previously worked as an assistant Tax Accountant before joining the Accounting and Tax team of Tony Bongiorno and Magdaline Askitis. Graduating from Melbourne University with a Bachelor of Commerce degree, majoring in Accounting and Finance, Gloriana is currently undertaking the CPA Program.

Gloriana once danced for the Sultan of Brunei as part of his birthday celebrations.

William Pho


William has a Bachelor of Business (Accountancy) degree from RMIT University, graduating in 2015. He has also commenced studying for his CPA and works in Director Jim Tsirtsakis’ team, assisting both David Lay and Nishani De Almeida in the preparation of tax returns, activity statements and other financial reports.

William can touch type 100 words per minute!

Konstantine Kyratzis


Konstantine works in Director Jim Tsirtsakis's team and holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Monash University, majoring in Accounting and minoring in Mathematics. He is currently completing his Certified Practicing Accounting degree. 

Konstantine practices fencing as a hobby ‘en garde’.

Ada Batsaki

Graduate Accountant

Ada hails from Athens in Greece and moved to Melbourne in 2014. Holding a Diploma of Commerce and a Bachelor of Business (Accounting), Ada is part of the Graduate team at the Bongiorno Group completing tax returns and BAS's. 

Ada was an amateur theatre actress in Greece

Katie joins Michael Waycott’s team with four and a half years’ experience. She holds a Bachelor of Business, majoring in Financial Management and is currently completing her Bachelor of Accounting as well as working towards her CA. 

Katie has a passion for travel, with Switzerland being her favourite country she has visited so far.

Shelley Ying


Shelley graduated from Monash University with a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Accounting and Finance. She has previously worked in financial services as an accountant before joining the Bongiorno Group in 2017. Shelley holds her CA and works in Director Paul Fox’s team.

When Shelley was in high school she wanted to be a midwife.

Lawrence Vuong

Tax Administrator/Client Services Manager

Lawrence completed a Bachelor of Commerce degree in 2013, with majors in Business Information Systems and Accounting Information Systems. Lawrence works with Magdaline's team, taking care of their administrative duties and contacting clients.

Appreciates a nice glass of well-aged whiskey.

Tenzin Choephel

Tax Administrator

Tenzin completed his Masters in Commerce from India and went on work as an accountant in Central Tibetan Administration for seven years. He came to Australia in February 2016 and started to work as Administration Support (attending to ATO paper buster correspondence / lodgement of all tax and BAS returns and general database management) at Bongiorno Group in the month of July 2016.

Tenzin can play the guitar and traditional Tibetan instruments.

Melody Matthys

Tax Administrator

Melody joined the Bongiorno Group after completing a Bachelor of Business majoring in Accounting. She works with Director Paul Fox's team, completing tax returns, taking care of their administrative duties and client contact.

Despite her name, Melody’s only musical talent is singing in the car with the music too loud.

Sarah Sabra

Tax Administrator SMSF

Sarah joined the Bongiorno Group with six years’ experience in Self-Managed Super Fund Administration and works alongside Michele Harrod and Peter Lee. Sarah is currently studying a Bachelor of Business at Victoria University.

Sarah once jumped out of a moving car to avoid a spider.


Prue Hunter

Insurance Client Service Manager

Prue joined the Bongiorno Group in 2012 and is currently completing a Bachelor of Commerce (with a major in Accounting) and a Diploma of Financial Planning. Prior to her studies in commerce, she completed a degree in Exercise Science and an Advanced Diploma in Accounting.

Prue was the Grade 6 Nut Bush Champion.

Helen Lloyd

Insurance Client Service Manager

With a Diploma of Financial Services, Helen has over 20 years’ experience specialising in personal risk insurance. Helen works closely with our clients to ensure all their insurance needs are met.   

Helen used to ride her pet cow called Mischief.

Matthew Homewood

Insurance Client Service Manager

Holding a Commerce/Arts degree with majors in Finance, Management and Criminology from Melbourne University, Matt works closely with advisers in the Doctors in Training team. Matt also looks after the Personal Risk Insurance for Michael Waycott’s clients.

Matt’s favourite item of clothing is his board shorts.

Carole Kealy

Administrative Assistant/Client Services Manager - Insurance

Carole looks after insurance renewals, follows up on overdue premiums and keeps client insurance details up-to-date.  Carole has been a part of the Bongiorno Group for over 35 years, working in all areas of the company, 

Carole loves tennis and is a major Stefan Edberg and Rafa Nadal fan

Tom Will

Insurance Administrator / Client services

Tom manages renewals for the practice as well as providing a high level of administrative service to our clients, Directors and the insurance team. Tom has obtained his Diploma in Financial Planning.

Tom is obsessed with Game of Thrones.

Head of Financial Planning and Insurance

Maria is the Head of Financial Planning and Insurance at the Bongiorno Group. Maria has worked in banking and finance since 2001 where she specialised in Financial Planning for Private Bank and medical specialist clients. Maria holds an Advanced Diploma of Financial Planning and is a member of the Financial Planning Association.


Maria loves to cook and is a qualified pastry chef.

Allison O'Donnell

Financial Planning - Client Services Manager

Allison spent the past eight years in Bongiorno’s Sydney office most recently as a Client Services Manager.  Allison is currently studying her Diploma of Financial Planning.  Her role includes the implementation and ongoing administration of client’s financial strategies; including responding to client queries, preparation of reports and advice documents, as well as providing support to all the advisers.

Elana Alford

Financial Planning Administrator

A valuable team member, Elana assists the Financial Planning team with the implementation of client strategies. She liaises with super funds and managed funds to assist the advisers in information gathering, work overflow and reporting.

Trent Bissett

Management Accountant - Finance Department

Trent has a Bachelor of Commerce and is a qualified CPA. Trent is responsible for helping to manage the smooth running of the internal finances of the Bongiorno Group and any account related enquiries.

Tania Shan

Operations and Advice Manager

Tania holds a Bachelor of Business from Monash University with majors in Banking and Finance, and Economics. Amongst her many duties, she works with the directors to continually refine processes to improve efficiencies and client service standards. She also manages the client database system and is a member of the Bongiorno Investment Committee.

Tania is an active foster carer for various animal rescue groups.

Patrick Vo

IT Support Officer

Patrick is responsible for managing all helpdesk requests and providing Level One/Level Two desktop support to all users. He also looks after all IT equipment in the office.  

Patrick is obsessed with the 4 S's - Simpsons, Star Wars, Seinfeld and Survivor. 

Tonya (Niya) Tuo

Executive Assistant/Client Relationship Manager

Tonya joined the Bongiorno Group in 2005 and is the executive assistant to three Directors Paul Fox, Jim Tsirtsakis and Sarah Thorburn. Being with the practice for over 10 years, Tonya has a wealth of knowledge in all areas of administration and client service and is a valued member of the administation team.

To overcome her shyness when she was little, Tonya attended acting school.

Hannah Walker-Dax

Executive Assistant/Client Relationship Manager

Hannah is the executive assistant to Director Tony Bongiorno and CEO Margaret Mote and joined the Bongiorno Group in 2013. Having graduated with a degree in English Literature, Hannah previously worked in the Financial PR industry in London.

Jessica Porter

Executive Assistant/Client Relationship Manager

Jessica joined the Bongiorno Group in 2017 and is the Executive Assistant to two Directors, Joe Bongiorno, Michael Waycott and Consultant Vanessa Smith. Jess has a Diploma in Human Resource Management as well as a background in administrative roles across various industries including Banking & Financial Services.

Jess has sung at the opening ceremony of the World Cup Show Jumping competition.

Elise is our Director of First Impressions. Not only is she the first port of call for our clients, she carries out essential administration duties. Elise holds both an Honours in Interior Design and a Bachelor of Arts.

Director of First Impressions Tue, Wed

Working in the first impressions team, Jo is an integral part of the Bongiorno family. She assists with all day to day running of the front of house and administration teams. Having previous experience in advertising, PR and administration, she is an indispensable asset for all team members and clients. 

Jo wants to be a dancer in her next life and is obsessed with dance TV shows. 

Stephanie Defazio

Executive Assistant/Client Relationship Manager

Stephanie is the executive assistant to Director Nick Fennessy and joined the Bongiorno Group in 2018. Stephanie brings to her team over seven years experience working as a PA, four of those in the banking and asset finance industries.

Elise Travis

Marketing Coordinator/Client Relationship Manager - Tue/Wed

Working alongside Anneliese, Elise is an integral member of the marketing team. She draws on her skills acquired in her design degree, assisting in developing and implementating major projects as well as any day to day administrative requirements.
